DCon: Custom Baby Deadbeets by Eckotyper - Spankystokes Booth #201

Central California based artist Eckotyper, is going to be bringing some custom painted baby Deadbeets to Designer Con. Each baby Deadbeet has been painted by Eckotyper, in a variety of vibrant colors.

 

Limited to 21 custom painted baby Deadbeats, these little guys are going to sell blind bagged for $15 each. Word is that there is also a "chase" figure in the bunch. These baby Deadbeets, along with customs from many different artists, can be found at Spankystokes' booth, #201. Be sure to stop by Spankystokes' booth, #201, as he will have some pure awesome going on throughout the 2 days of Designer Con.

 

For all of those who are experiencing some Heisenberg withdrawal, Eckotyper might have some Heisenberg inspired Dunnys left in his online store.

DCon: Pipsqueaks by Amanda Louise Spayd - Booth 400

Circus Posterus is going to have a lot of blue in their booth this year. Amanda Louise Spayd is joining the Circus Posterus booth with a release of her "robins egg blue" Pipsqueak.

 

Limited to 50 pieces, each piece is hand cast and painted by Amanda. They measure in at 2 3/8" and will retail for $16 each. Be sure to stop by Circus Posterus early, at booth #400, grab the correct purchase tickets. During they day, why not have a chat with Amanda, who will be on hand along with all the Circus Posterus artists.

DCon: Frostbite Fuzzlethump by Chris Ryniak - Booth 400

Designer Con goodies keep showing up. Chris Ryniak is bringing a small set of 10 Frostbite Fuzzlethumps to Designer Con.




These hand painted little guys are going to be available only at the Circus Posterus booth at DCon, for $175 a piece. With doors opening at 9am, these pieces are likely going to be sold via a first come, first served ticket system. Chris did hint that future editions might be made available, but there is never any guarantee.

So, make a plan, get your tickets for DCon ahead of time and arrive early to line up prior to doors opening.

DCON: kaNO kid Goodies - Booth 112

 

With DCON fast approaching, artists are revealing more of what he/she is going to be bringing along. Kano is bringing some great custom pieces, ranging from sketched on Munnys to hand painted Crow Dragon King customs. Kano is also bringing along some sketched stickers placed on some re-purposed spray cans and bottles. Located at Booth 112, be sure to stop by to say hello, buy some swag, and maybe even coerce Kano into providing a sketch.

If you are planning on attending DCON for one or both of the event days, save some money and purchase tickets early.

DCon: Urban Vinyl Daily Custom Dunny Series 2

Urban Vinyl Daily is excited to announce that the second installment in their UVD Custom Series will launch at this year's Designer Con. This time around they have gathered 15 artists to create 90 custom 3" Dunnys for all to enjoy.

But that's not all! One lucky customer will take home a special golden ticket custom 8" Dunny created by Ryan The Wheelbarrow.

These figures will be sold blind box at booth #315 for just $85 each.

DCon: "mofo" by Carson Catlin

The "mofo" custom by Carson Catlin will be available at booth 601 during the Hustle and Hype show.
Standing tall at 9" tall, mofo is a fully reticulated "badass" toy from Kronk / Pobber. It will retail for $450 at the open of the show.

DCon: Evilos x Breaking Bad Android Custom with Shirt for Designer Con 2013

Evilos has created a very limited run of Breaking Bad themed custom Androids for Designer Con 2013 using Monster Kolor Paints. Limited to only Five, each custom will depict the very iconic Bee Logo from the Series. From the series the Golden Moth Chemical is a fictional industrial chemical manufacturing company based in Albuquerque and owned by Chinese businessman Duane Chow. Golden Moth Chemical was a chemical supplier for Gustavo Fring's organization, primarily supplying honey extract to Fring's superlab for the purpose of manufacturing methamphetamine.

Each piece will be hand airbrushed and limited to 5 pieces, will also include a Free T-Shirt hand screened by Evilos. They will be $75 each shipped and will be sold at Designer Con via Evilos' Booth #421 First come, first served.

Jason Freeny interviewed by Norman Chan from Tested.com

One goal for all artists in the Designer Toy world should be for more mainstream media exposure. More exposure translates to a bigger available audience when art is available. Jason Freeny has been interviewed by many mainstream media outlets over the years, all of whom are interested in his famous quarter cut anatomical designed customs and toys. One of Jason's more recent collabs is with Luke Chueh's Target figure, which is going to have it's second colorway be available at the upcoming Designer Con in Southern California.

Norman Chan from Tested.com took some time to visit Jason at his studio, where Jason talks a bit about his process and background. Tested.com is an online blog created by the duo from Mythbusters. Check out the interview here:

Komega and Vinyl RIot - Custom Dunny Series "Foslween: Trick or Treat"

Komega has teamed up with Vinyl Riot for this Halloween themed custom Dunny series. Foslween: Trick or Treat features five blind box figures, "Mugz Mummy", "Franky Stein", "Grouchy Marx", "Wooofie", and "Sir Drakky" which all look beautiful. They will be available on the Vinyl Riot site Thursday, October 31st at 12Noon PST for only $85 a piece.
